  • two years of studies
  • 120 ECTS credits
  • studies in at least one Finnish and one Russian university 
  • periods of mobility, consisting of, e.g., classroom studies, seminars, internships, virtual studies and intensive courses 
  • a personal study plan 
  • a Master’s thesis

Study programmes

The CBU offers  Master´s Programmes in four  fields of study.

CBU: Master Programmes join us todayMaster´s Programmes

The CBU presents top quality, international Master’s degree programmes, which are jointly produced and developed in cooperation between the CBU partner universities. The extent of studies is two years and 120 ECTS credits. The CBU programmes are developed in compliance with the requirements of the Bologna Declaration. The four CBU fields of study  are:

  • Forestry and Environmental Engineering
  • Information and Communications Technology
  • International Relations
  • Public Health


The basic requirements for applicants are a Bachelor’s degree and a good command of academic English. The student selection is based on success in earlier studies and level of motivation. 

CBU Doctoral Programmes

During the year 2009, the CBU is developing Doctoral Programmes which follow a common structure and are mutually recognised by the CBU partner universities.  The content of the studies will include a major subject and research-related studies, internationalisation, placement in private or public sector, mobility period in Russia / Finland, and a doctoral thesis.

The CBU doctoral studies will be developed in close cooperation also with working life aiming to guarantee the relevance of the studies and to promote the employment of future doctors outside academia.
