CBU has been awarded a honorary diploma in the Sail of Papenburg competition by the Association of European Cross Border Regions for special achievements in European cross-border cooperation.
The diploma was awarded by the Secretary General Martín Guillermo-Ramírez from the Association of European Border Regions. The diploma was received by Director of the CBU, Professor Liisa Tahvanainen.
The Finnish-Russian Cross-Border University is truly honoured for receiving the diploma and wishes to express sincere appreciation to the AEBR Executive Committee for awarding the diploma.
The diploma ceremony took place 23rd of November at Pielisjoen linna, in Joensuu.
Sail of Papenburg
Sail of Papenburg is an annual competition for innovative projects carried out in cross-border regions. This year of the eight projects taking part in to the competition Euregio Scheldemond’s bioenergy project "BIO BASE EUROPE" received the first price.
The award honours particular achievements in the area of cross-border cooperation, e.g. in the cultural, economic, institutional, environmental and social sphere in a border or cross-border region.
