The student selection was done on 1st of November and eight students were accepted to the start their PhD studies. Of the eight selected students five study forestry, one studies one studies computers science, one studies higher education management and two study public health. Six of the selected students come from Russia, one is from Poland and one from Pakistan.
The CBU doctoral students held their first opening seminar in Joensuu on November 11th 2010. During the seminar the students presented their research plans and were given information on how the PhD project will proceed.
The students make their studies in the existing graduate schools in the CBU partner universities.
