Call for the CBU Doctoral students starting grants
The grant is targeted to the students of the CBU partner universities who are planning to make PhD within CBU Doctoral programme. Currently the following graduate schools were joined to the CBU Doctoral programme:
- East Finland Graduate School in Computer Science and Engineering
- Graduate School in Forest Sciences
- Russia in Europe. Doctoral Programme in Border Studies.
- Graduate School in Public Health
Citizens of all countries can apply. The first doctoral students among the CBU graduates will be selected to continue their studies within CBU doctoral programs. CBU Development Unit will pay up to 8 scholarships for 2 months period. During this period the following activities are expected from the students:
- Students will contact with their potential supervisors in Finland and Russia.
- Students will prepare Research plans and get the admission to the programmes and graduate schools of CBU Universities in Finland.
- Students will apply for the right to doctoral studies at CBU partner universities.
- Students will prepare scholarships applications in Russia, Finland, International foundations to guarantee the continuation of their doctoral studies.
The duration of the starting grant is 2 months from 01.11.2010 till 31.12.2010. By the end of the period the report on the activities should be submitted to the CBU Development Unit. The amount of the grant is 1200 euro per month. More detailed instructions about the payment and other practical details will be published upon the decision of grants.
The application deadline is 25.10.2010.
The application form for the CBU Doctoral students starting grants is attached to this letter and should be returned to Dr. Eugene Lopatin at the CBU Development Unit, Joensuu campus. The application should be signed by the applicant and the head of his/her graduate school.
